Hi there! Long time no see!!! I finally came back here!!!! Although I have to write about some of my nominations, I really would love to post about my last studying abroad in America for this year today! I learned how to paint a still life at San Do’s painting studio in Tampa, Florida with Gay.
I stopped by Gay’s house in Michigan first, and she and I flied to Tampa together. We had a great great time there with San and Bill! It was my first time to go to Tampa and visit his painting studio. Since San allowed me to post some his painting studio’s photos, I’d love to share some of them with you here! His painting studio was awesome, BUT he and Bill invited Gay and me to their house, and their house was just AMAZING!!!! I’ve never ever seen such the house yet because it was full of china paintings from KPM, Meissen, Limoges and many porcelain factories!!!! They have been collecting a lot of beautiful antique porcelains and they explained how they got them, who painted, and so on. Gay and I really enjoyed it! I didn’t take any pictures of them, but Bill told us that they might make a book of their collections. I hope they will make it and I can buy one of them!! His painting studio has a bath room where is also full of Alfred Tledano’s Dresden paintings!!!! The room is not allowed to take pictures, but it was also fabulous!!!!!!!

San has been selling some Limoges white porcelain and I bought two of them. I’m planing to paint one of them for Gay’s school and donate it for an auction at her School. Since I saw some good white porcelain including Limoges, I’d love to buy more next year! My classmates were 4 people including Gay and me. I met them at the Tybee school and I thought it’s a small world. After school we ate Greek food at a Greek restaurant.

Gay, San and I sometimes went to Tony’s restaurant to eat lunch, and the restaurant was my favorite!
My Favorite Menu of Tony’s Restaurant
The potion of the restaurant was huge and I could eat a half of amount. We can choose three meals and the combination was my favorite: mushrooms, fried fish and broccolies.
San, Bill, Gay and I had eaten dinner after our class every time. We went to a sea food, Thai and Vietnamese restaurant together and I ate fried alligators and fried green tomatoes for the first time! They were good!

Pears with a Still life Style: Designed by San Do
I painted the still life painting with San Do. Taking San’s class is always fun and I love painting with him. He is definitely my favorite teacher! Every time I have taken his class, I’ve tasted myself how much I’ve improved my painting skills. If he doesn’t touch some parts of my painting, it means it’s perfect. This time he didn’t touch my pears! I’m so glad I could paint pears such real!!

I asked San if I could add some water drops on his design, and he taught me how to paint water drops in this class. While waiting for my turn that San corrected, I practiced water drops and pearls on another tile from another San’s design.

This is my practice piece of water drops. San didn’t correct it and just said I did a good job. When he saw I was painting with the water drops with some tiny Japanese blushes, he was very surprised. I’m not used to painting with an American style and painted them with my style with my Japanese blushes.

Since painting water drops was very fun, I’d love to paint more water drops!!
I really think San is a great painter because he copied some KPM antique portraits and when I saw them, I couldn’t recognize which ones were San’s paintings and which ones were originals. I was so inspired by his works. He also paints with no blush marks and no dusts. His works are so smooth. I showed him my practicing portraits’ pictures on my blog and asked some advice because mine have gotten some dusts. He taught me how to paint without dusts. When I paint something with an American style next time, I’d love to pay more attention. I love painting still life paintings, and I’d love to improve my skills in still life paintings more from now on! Gay and I signed up next year’s class. I can’t wait to paint with Gay and San again in Tampa! I really appreciate to Gay to take me to San’s painting studio and paint with me!!! Thank you so much, Gay! Next year we will take his portrait class, but we can choose our painting objects. Since I’d love to learn how to paint wrinkles on faces, I’d love to choose some interesting Asian or African women’s faces. I have some good photos of them and would like to bring them.
San and Bill will go to Thailand and attend the Thailand convention. I’d love to join them and go there with Gay!
Today a friend of mine, Minerva edited my photos and shared them with me. So, I’d love to add them on my this blog entry. Thank you so much, Minerva! I know I have to improve my photo skills, but having such friends who help me is so nice, isn’t it?
