R.I.P. Ma

Posted in European Style, flower painting with tags , , on June 25, 2016 by yumi

Hi there! I hope you are having a good weekend.  A couple of days ago, I got some really sad news from one of my American moms, Dixie. Her 100 year-old mom passed away. I lost my American grannie. When I heard it, I was very shocked.

I painted this plate for her mother, Ma.  Ma was an amazing lady. I met her when I visited Charles and Dixie in Alabama a couple of years ago for the first time. They took me to their hometown, Kentucky. Ma lived alone even though she was over ninety. Her house was just like a museum with full of antiques!  I felt in love with Ma,  her house, Kentucky, Dixie’s sister, brother and everybody whom I met in a first sight. Since then, Kentucky has become my favorite States. Evey time I stopped by Dixie’s, I enjoyed meeting Dixie’s people and Ma there.

Last year I was planning on visiting Dixie and Charles again. I painted this plate to celebrate Ma’s 100 year old birthday. However, my in-laws got sick and I couldn’t make it. Next year, I am planning on visiting Dixie and Charles in Alabama, and I want to give this plate to them.

I painted this plate from my German teacher, Birgit Poter’s study, but I didn’t use her techniques. I painted this plate with my fat oil with one fire techniques.

I hope you all are having a relaxing weekend!

See you next weekend here again!

Landscape

Hi there! How are you doing this weekend? I hope you all are having fun!

Today I want to show my landscape painting. This is an assignment for my school. We have to paint this one with fat oil. Well, this one is not one fire. I fired this three times.

I can’t show my school textbook, but this one has no colored study. We receive a really bad conditioned black and white line drawing. the studies are two, and we have to convine the two different landscapes into one piece.  Then, we have to paint with our imagination. For me painting it was not so difficult, but the design to combine two different landscapes into one was a hard part. When you look at my piece, you can figure out some parts where you can’t make sense, lol. Most of students hate this subject, but I enjoyed it.

Now, I am making a tea set. After my teacher says, “Your pieces are done.”, I can show it you here.

I hope you like my landscape painting. It took one month for me to finish this piece.

Have a good weekend! See you next weekend here again!

Hi there!

How have you been? I am doing pretty well and am glad I can keep blogging constantly.

Today, I want to show you my fruits paintings. These are very small pieces even though they are not miniatures.

These are one fire. I painted them with fat oil. To be honest, I think it’s much easier to paint with painting oil, and I think it looks better. However, these are assignments for my painting school, and I had to paint them with fat oil.

Next time I want to paint these with panting oil. It will be interesting to look at them in comparison.

Thank you as always for your support! Have a sweet weekend! See you next weekend on my blog again!

Practice Piece of Roses

Posted in European Style, flower painting, Uncategorized on June 4, 2016 by yumi

Hi there! How have you been? In Japan we are heading to a rainy season. Before we get the season, I want to show my practice piece of roses today. The rose season is almost over here. Today I went out to see roses in a rose garden where is close to our house. I will post the pictures tomorrow and will link the blog entry with this one.

I gave this plate last year for my mom’s friend, and I totally have forgotten about this plate. Today when I downloaded new pictures to my PC, I accidentally found the plate. I am glad that I can post the plate pics today. I painted this plate at one fire. I think I need more practice, and I want to paint some roses from pictures that I took at the rose garden today.
