Hi there!

It’s getting colder here and I really miss the hot weather in Thailand.

A couple of days ago I went to a Japanese garden called Youkoukan and took some pictures. I will update my another blog with some pictures of the place soon. Please keep an eye on my another blog!

Well, today’s entry is still about the Thai convention. This one is my competition piece for a  free theme. I received a prize award at the competition with this box.

This box has a story which I made for the box.  A Roman marchant found an old map. He learned about the map and realized that it was a treasure map!

To discover the treasure he started going on a voyage.

It was really tough for him to discover the treasure, but he found where the treasure was.

However, if he wanted to get it, he had to fight against the golden sea dragon. He was a guard for the treasure.

Painting follow the story on the box was really fun!

I met a painter from Hong Kong. Since she watched my competition piece very carefully, I spoke to her. When I explained about my story with the box, she loved it. I also told the same story to my Australian painting friend, Ingrid with whom I went to Thailand, she also really loved my story.

Before  I received the prize award from H.E. the Privy Councillor of Thai government, I explained how and why I created this piece to him. He listened to my story and when I opened the box and showed him the inside of the box, he was just surprised at the inside painting. He told me that he really loved the story, the box painting both outside and inside. I was extremely happy.

This is the certificate for my award at the Thai conventin.

Hi there!
It’s getting colder here in Japan, and I had a cold. A week ago I wan in Thailand and the weather was very hot, but after I returned to Japan, it has been cold. I hope everyone is fine!
Today I show you my bird painting. This is also for an exhibition piece in Thai convention. I painted the birds from a book that one of my American moms, Dixie gave. I love the bird book and I have a lot of ideas to paint birds from the book. I designed the scrolls and tried to show my piece fantasy. I think it worked out and at the convention, I saw many people took some pictures of this bird painting. I’m happy many people in Thai convention liked my bird painting. My painting teacher, Ivonne Planos told me that it was her favorite when she saw it at the convention!

I love painting birds and I think I painted the birds very well. I named the work “Talkee-Talkee” because for me two birds seem to enjoy chatting.

I love raised past and gold, but I’m not good at it. I’m planning to take a class at one of  Southern painting schools in America in next September with Dixie and want to master the techniques. I want to use the raised past and gold into my future work a lot.

Since I painted the birds on a book sharped porcelain, I painted it seemed to be an antique book. I hope many people like this bird painting!

My Snake Plate with Some Chelsea Birds

Hi, everyone!  I returned to Japan from Thailand last night. I had a great great time with my friends, Ingrid and Helga there. I will report the Thai convention later on another blog entry and this time I want to show one of my exhivision pieces.

I ordered the plate online. When I looked at it, I thought it was very unique because it had some relieves of snakes. My Chinese zodiac is a snake and I thought it might be a lucky charm for me. It was true, and I received an award at the Thai convention. I will show my award piece later on another entry too.

My American friend, Dixie loves Chelsea birds and I’ve known she has wanted to paint them. So, I designed the plate for her.

I added some snake scales and it worked out for my snake plate beautifully. When one of my painting teachers,  Ivonne Planos looked at my plate, she praised me very much at the Thai convention. I was very happy at the moment.  I painted the plate with some pine oil and lavender oil.

When I paint other Chelsea birds, I want to try to paint with some different oil.
