Hello there!

How have you been? I am very sorry that I couldn’t update my art blog at all. I went back to my painting school, and I am busy for doing my assignment. I am in a mid course of advanced and have to paint a lot to finish the course.

I am glad that today I can post something! I painted this place more than four years ago at my painting school. I  painted this Christmas place with one fire techniques.  Do you plan on painting something Christmas this year? Do you have some ideas for painting? I hope I can paint something Christmas this year and can update it here. I will try my best.

My teacher in Tokyo gave me two objects, the burn and poinsettias. I combined two of them and designed the plate. My teacher loved it, and I got a big compliment from her. She wanted to keep the plate to show it to other students and recently she returned it to me. She had showed it to others for more than four years. I am so honored, lol.

Tomorrow, I will update my other blog that I have been introducing Japanese culture.  So, stay turned!

A Sake Bottle with the Kutani Techniques

Posted in Japanese, Japanese Style, Kutani, landscapes with tags , , , , on January 27, 2014 by yumi

Hi there!

Today’s entry is the Japanese style! It’s a sake bottle and I painted it for my mom. She doesn’t drink at all, but she wants to use it as a vase.

The design is twisted, and it’s a feature of Kutani tableware. Isn’t it a unique style?

Hi again!

I’m happy that I can show you my artwork every day, lol!

Today’s entry is “Voyage”.  I painted it for a workshop at Dixie’s.

I have several good people with whom I can enjoy painting at Dixie’s, and it’s their request plate.

Last year, I received a mention award at the international Thai convention, and this is the very similar design as the box that I got the award.

I love the design that a gold dragon is surrounding the sea and sky. I think it’s pretty neat.

A Traditional Kutani Plate in Japan

Posted in International Convention, Japanese Style, Kutani, landscapes, My Trip with tags , , , on August 1, 2013 by yumi

Hi there!

How have you been? I’ve been doing well, and started preparing my third studying abroad in America this year. I will fly to America in three weeks, and stay there for two months! I really can’t wait!

Before going back to America, I want to update my art blog as many as I can.

Today’s blog entry is “Kutani”. I painted this plate for the international Mexico convention this year.

When I showed it to people in Mexico, most of them were so interested in our classical and traditional style, Kutani because it’s their first time to see the Kutani style in person. Many people in Mexico said the colors on the plate were very unique. Yes, they are!!! That’s because they are made from glass. Only Kutani uses the colors made from glass in Japan.  I’m really glad that many people became interested in Kutani.

They said the green color on the plate was so lovely, and I totally agree with them. I’m very proud of our this art form, Kutani and the colors.

I’m so glad that I could introduce Kutani to people in Mexico, and they really loved my plate!

I donated this plate to the convention, and one of the Mexican ladies has kept it. I’m really happy that my plate is in Mexico!

A Gift For My Mom

Posted in European Style, landscapes, Okura Japanese Tableware with tags , , on November 21, 2011 by yumi

Hi, friends. How are you doing today? I’ve been busy to hang out with my British friend right now. He has been staying at my house. So, we rather enjoy looking around my area where I live!

Anyway, I would like to show my new two matching cup and saucer sets to you. I painted them for my mom. I also painted different design on other sets for my mom-in-law. Next time I will show them. This time, I’d like to show my mom’s sets.

I painted them in sepia colors. I designed and painted the gold parts, too.

Actually, I bought the white porcelain at Okura. It is a Japanese china company. Most products are very expensive, but they have the highest quality. The white on the porcelain is so beautiful. That’s why our Royal family including our Emperor and Empress also has been using the Okura’s china.

When I designed for my mom, I thought that I wanted to use the beautiful white color on the porcelain. So, I tried to paint them simple. Although I want my mom to use them, after she received them, she said that she couldn’t use them because they looked so lovely! She has been decorating them on her cup board. I’m so happy that my mom loves them!!
