Hello there!

This is my first blog entry for this year. It’s time for me to start blogging again! Thanks as always for visiting my blog!! When you look at my artwork and read the blog entry, please leave a comment!! It always encourages me and has become a really good motivation to keep on painting for me!!! Thank you so much!

Meanwhile, last year I learned how to paint miniature portraits from my dear teacher, Birgit Porter from Germany in America.

I painted a Russian princess and one of my daughter’s super miniatures in the class. After I returned to Japan, I finished two of left of my daughter’s super miniatures.

The super minis are almost the same size as a penny. I wanted to make a necklace with each of them, but I figured out that it’s difficult and needs a lot of money. So, I almost gave it up. However, when I showed them to my other teacher, San Do, he suggested that I can make a porcelain button. I think it’s very cute to have some porcelain buttons with my daughter’s portraits!

After I finished them, I started practicing some miniature portraits again. They are my practice pieces.

The right one is my self-portrait. I’m planning on giving it to my mom as a surprise gift on my birthday. I think on a birthday that we should appreciate to our parents to give birth. I learned it after I gave birth to my daughter. The left of two are my daughter. I bought the blanc porcelain necklaces and broach in Florida with Gay.
This is a good size for me to wear and paint on.

Can you see my daughter’s facial expression? She is crying and I painted some tear drops on her face. It was so much fun!!!

Hi again!

I’m happy that I can show you my artwork every day, lol!

Today’s entry is “Voyage”.  I painted it for a workshop at Dixie’s.

I have several good people with whom I can enjoy painting at Dixie’s, and it’s their request plate.

Last year, I received a mention award at the international Thai convention, and this is the very similar design as the box that I got the award.

I love the design that a gold dragon is surrounding the sea and sky. I think it’s pretty neat.

Hi all!

Today’s entry is a native American jewelry box, and I painted it for the international Mexico convention in 2013.

I did the workshop in Mexico, and I really had a great time with my students at the workshop.

It’s getting closer me going back to the U.S, and I’m very excited!

Today I want to show my newest work.

I painted this piece for one of my American friends, Sue’s request. I will do the workshop at her’s, and I’m really looking forward to painting with her and her people in her group!

A Piece of Jewelry Painting

Posted in American Syle, Jewerly Painting, The GA Seminar by the Sea Porcelain Art School, Uncategorized with tags , , , on June 21, 2013 by yumi

Hi friends!

It’s getting hotter and more humid in Japan, and how are you doing?

After I returned to Japan from my trip, America and Mexico, I’ve been settling up our new house. It’s getting final, and I think I can start painting again in this week. Since I have a friend from America at home, he has been helping me to settle up.

This week I am planning on going to my Kutani teacher’s painting studio for the firs time in three months, and I want to go to a big Japanese antique show in Kyoto with my friend from America. Since I’m a huge huge fan of both of Japanese and Western antiques, I can’t wait! I will take a bunch of pictures, and will show you in my blog!

Today I want to show you my recent piece of jewelry panting. I painted this one for a demo at the GA school by the Sea in February. I demonstrated how to paint the jewelry piece at the school, and many people came to my demo.

You can see my demo pictures here.

My Jewelry Painting

Hi there!

It’s been a while since I posted my last entry. How have you been?

I don’t like saying excuses, but I screwed up some of my kutani plates that would be supposed to become my first blog entry  a couple of days ago.  In addition, my digital camera died and I’ve been fixing it. So, for a while, I couldn’t post anything here.  Although I still haven’t gotten my camera yet, I realized that I have some pictures of my Jewelry painting that I painted for the Thai convention in my PC.

It was supposed to become my teaching project at Bangsai, the royal academy of porcelain painting in Thailand, but I taught a different piece of jewelry.

So, today I want to show my new jewelry painting.

A Treasure Box

Posted in American Syle, Awards, competition, Dragon, Fantasy, landscapes with tags , , , on November 30, 2012 by yumi

Hi there!

It’s getting colder here and I really miss the hot weather in Thailand.

A couple of days ago I went to a Japanese garden called Youkoukan and took some pictures. I will update my another blog with some pictures of the place soon. Please keep an eye on my another blog!

Well, today’s entry is still about the Thai convention. This one is my competition piece for a  free theme. I received a prize award at the competition with this box.

A treasure Box

A treasure Box

This box has a story which I made for the box.  A Roman marchant found an old map. He learned about the map and realized that it was a treasure map!

To discover the treasure he started going on a voyage.

It was really tough for him to discover the treasure, but he found where the treasure was.

However, if he wanted to get it, he had to fight against the golden sea dragon. He was a guard for the treasure.

Painting follow the story on the box was really fun!

I met a painter from Hong Kong. Since she watched my competition piece very carefully, I spoke to her. When I explained about my story with the box, she loved it. I also told the same story to my Australian painting friend, Ingrid with whom I went to Thailand, she also really loved my story.

Before  I received the prize award from H.E. the Privy Councillor of Thai government, I explained how and why I created this piece to him. He listened to my story and when I opened the box and showed him the inside of the box, he was just surprised at the inside painting. He told me that he really loved the story, the box painting both outside and inside. I was extremely happy.

This is the certificate for my award at the Thai conventin.
