Imari Painting – Iroe Sometsuke
It is my newest artwork. I copied it from a very old Imari plate that was made in 1650’s to 1710’s. Although I enjoyed painting it, I don’t want to use the plate. It is a bit tawdry for using.
I am struggling with a typical Japanese pattern, ” Takokarakusa” right now. I am trying to creat my design with the pattern, but it is very hard. After I paint a plate with my ” Takokarakusa “, I will update the picture of it!
Anyway, the plate pattern of these pictures is very old and very colourful. I think the original plate was exported to some European countries from Japan.
