A Sake Bottle with the Kutani Techniques

Hi there!

Today’s entry is the Japanese style! It’s a sake bottle and I painted it for my mom. She doesn’t drink at all, but she wants to use it as a vase.

The design is twisted, and it’s a feature of Kutani tableware. Isn’t it a unique style?

Great job, Yumi. It’s great that you do paint things for your mom to show her you appreciate her. Keep up the great work!!!

    • Hi Emilie

Thank you as always for visiting my blog and leaving such the great comment! Yes, I will! I will try my best to improve my painting skills more!! Thank you for the encouragement as always!!

  6. Wow, it’s really cool. I’ve never drank saki, but I would like to try it someday. I really want to get a cool saki bottle like this. Thanks for sharing.

    • Hi Matt

Thank you for the comment again! I’m glad that you like my hand painted sake bottle. I didn’t know that I should spell “saki” even though I know Western people call “saki”. If you want to get one of them, I can paint it for you!! Next time I have to concern about how to mail it to you, lol!

  7. Yumi,
    Your art is beautiful!
Would you consider teaching in Melbourne FL then next time you are in the States.

    • Hi, Di

I would love to! That would be wonderful!! I flew to the States on the 29th and landed in the same day America time. That’s why my response was delay.

      • I understand!! Is it possible we can work something out when you are here in Florida at San Do’s early next year?

      • Sounds great! Yes, it’s possible but it’s up to dates. I want to attend the world miniature show in Frolida and have to go to Thailand to attend the international convention in Feb. But I’m so excited to the request! Thank you so much!!!
