My Kakiemon Plates

I would like to show my Kakiemon today. Kakiemon is a part of Imari painting. Actually, I painted them three years ago. I still have some more Kakiemon that I haven’t shown on my blog entry.
My French friend who paints loves the Kakiemon style. So, I really wanted to show my Kakiemon to her. Since I prefer Sometuke and Nabeshima styles more in Imari painting, I haven’t practiced this style so much. However, I’d like to improve my Kakiemon, and I’d like to give my Kakiemon to my French friend. I’m happy she loves Japanese painting style! I hope she enjoys looking at my Kakiemon!!

This is my favorite Kakiemon! I love this bird plate. I’m thinking that I’d like to paint this quail with a different design on the other plate!

A Gift For My Mom

Hi, friends. How are you doing today? I’ve been busy to hang out with my British friend right now. He has been staying at my house. So, we rather enjoy looking around my area where I live!

Anyway, I would like to show my new two matching cup and saucer sets to you. I painted them for my mom. I also painted different design on other sets for my mom-in-law. Next time I will show them. This time, I’d like to show my mom’s sets.

I painted them in sepia colors. I designed and painted the gold parts, too.

Actually, I bought the white porcelain at Okura. It is a Japanese china company. Most products are very expensive, but they have the highest quality. The white on the porcelain is so beautiful. That’s why our Royal family including our Emperor and Empress also has been using the Okura’s china.

When I designed for my mom, I thought that I wanted to use the beautiful white color on the porcelain. So, I tried to paint them simple. Although I want my mom to use them, after she received them, she said that she couldn’t use them because they looked so lovely! She has been decorating them on her cup board. I’m so happy that my mom loves them!!

My Daughter’s Favorite!

Posted in European Style, Portrait, Uncategorized with tags , , on November 16, 2011 by yumi

Hi, there! It’s been a while since I posted my last entry. It’s been raining almost every day in my area where I live right now. So, even if I really wanted to take some pictures of my work, I couldn’t do that. That’s why I couldn’t update my blog entry.

However, it was a perfect sunny day for taking some pictures today. I would like to show a matching cup and saucer set today. I painted a portrait on the set. I also designed the gold parts, and all gold works are by my hands.  I tried to create an antique cup and saucer set. I hope it seems to be an antique!!

Actually, the set is my daughter’s favorite. I also love it. I’m happy because the set seems to be very cute! Since I love the girl and the dog, I would like to paint them on the other object.

My First Tea Set

Posted in European Style, flower painting, landscapes, Nyon Rose, Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on November 5, 2011 by yumi
Hi, friends! How have you been? In Japan it is an Autumn season. We can enjoy looking at leaves changing right now. I quite enjoy the season. In Japan the Autumn season is called that Autumn is the best season for art. I hope that I can paint a lot and update many blog entries!
Today I would like to show my first tea set. Actually, it took almost two years for me to finish it. While painting midway, I became tired to paint. I
had left the set for a while. I painted it in a monotone color. That’s why  I guess I became bored. In addition, I painted too much details, hahaha. I always paint too much! I also became tired. When I sew the set left, I thought I had to finish painting. I’m happy I could finish it.
When I showed the set to my British friend through a web-camera, he loved it. He asked me if I could paint for his parents’ 50th wedding anniversary. I’m happy he gave me a chance to paint another tea set. I haven’t planed for his parents’ tea set yet.
I’d like to follow my British friend’s favorite and paint something special for them. After I paint it, I will show you it here.
The tea set that I painted has a story. I imaged a tea party in the wood and painted it. When I went to a wood, I found a rose wood. When I peeped into the rose wood, I found a castle like a Cinderella castle. In the castle people was throwing a tea party.
I joined it and drunk some tea. After I drunk some tea, I realized that the tea was magic tea, and I could travel many places. However, every time before I went to new place, I returned back the rose wood first. And then I traveled some new places. That means I peeped many new places through the rose wood.
I quite enjoyed the design. The landscaps that I painted are all different designs. Some of them are very tiny. I hope you also enjoy peeping the scenery through my Nyon rose wood!

Thank  you so much for visiting my blog! Thank you also for seeing at the end of this blog entry!
